Technology Loaner Equipment

The Teacher Center has acquired a collection of equipment which is not always available in every School District. We invite you to borrow any of the items listed below and use them for projects or presentations in your classroom. They come with the software needed, general instructions and, in some cases, with detailed and simplified “how to do it” sheets. Individual assistance from the Teacher Center is available if we have enough advance notice.

• The items will be scheduled on a “first come - first served” basis
• Maximum loan time of two weeks
• Longer loans may be possible if the equipment is available.

Technology Placement Program

In late October, the NY State Teacher Center Technology Placement Program was launched.  The TPP Program is the result of a public/private partnership involving Teacher Centers, INTEL, Microsoft, Adobe, Dell, Smart, and Verizon.  The program will allow NY Educators to take advantage of substantial savings on computers, software, service, peripherals, and training.  The intent is to bring state-of-the-art technology into the homes of educators so they may bring the latest technological advantages into their classrooms in order to raise the level of student performance.  The NY State Teacher Center Technology Committee has worked very hard over the last few months to bring the partners together and develop an exciting and unique program.         

Constituents of Teacher Centers will be able to purchase “high end” computer bundles from Dell that have been pre-loaded with software from INTEL, Microsoft, and Adobe. In addition, a free 3 year in-home service plan is included as is a printer.  This all comes with the added benefit of training opportunities at little or no cost from Teacher Centers across the state. 

After presenting proof of purchase to the Sullivan County Teacher Center, you will be given a code that will enable you to purchase anything in the Dell catalogue, from plasma TVs to digital cameras, at a discount which will be the best offered in the country. 

A web site dedicated to the TPP Program has been created.  Here you can browse, configure, and purchase.  We have a computer at the Teacher Center Office dedicated to placing these orders or you can use your own device.
